At the Boys & Girls Clubs, kids and teens have the opportunity to explore a variety of programs and interests in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.
Select Boys & Girls Clubs will be open Monday through Friday from 3-7pm (times may vary for different Club locations). These locations will focus on after school tutoring and activities for members 6-12 years old. All COVID safety procedures are still in place and the clubs will maintain a 1:12 ratio and 6-foot social distancing.
Clubs will also open their doors for teen programming; including Passport to Manhood, SMART Girls, Keystone, games, and athletics. Our goal is to provide a safe place where teens can be themselves and also help educate and motivate Club teens to be catalysts for social justice. Again, all COVID safety protocols are still in place so space will be limited.
Youth Ages 6-12: $10/per month | Teens Ages 13-18: FREE
REGISTERIn both Harford and Cecil County, we will launch our newest initiative “Club on the Go”. Club on the Go is the BGC version of the neighborhood ice cream truck. We will bring our buses and vans into the communities we serve between 3-6pm to provide our kids with meals, on-demand programming, and Club bags filled with fun for our children. Details about when we will be in your neighborhood will be shared with you from each of our Club directors. There is no cost to participate.
LEARN MOREClubhouse @ Your House is a new virtual platform offering daily synchronous programming so members can continue to be connected to Boys & Girls Club staff, volunteers and programs during a time of social distancing and beyond. Using platforms such as Class Dojo and Zoom, staff engage with members in a positive and safe virtual environment. We create opportunities for recognition and dynamic activities that make it possible to bring the Boys & Girls Club experience to members’ homes.
In all programming, we look to achieve our three priority outcomes of Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. We currently offer children nearly 30 hours a week of dynamic and diverse live programming for our members including financial literacy, cooking classes, live tutoring with certified teachers, and physical fitness. Clubhouse @ Your House was developed by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW) and is now being used statewide by Boys & Girls Clubs Maryland Alliance.
REGISTERIn collaboration with HCPS, Boys & Girls Clubs will offer licensed before and after child care in several school locations. Before and after care is designed to complement and provide wrap-around services for the Learning Support Centers that will be operated by the school system during the school day. Our programs will run from 7-9am and 3-6pm Monday through Friday. Families with an approved Maryland State Scholarship may apply the scholarship to help defray the cost of in-school care. If you have not applied for the scholarship, CLICK HERE to see if you qualify. Questions? Contact Rachel Boucher, Director of School-Based Programs at rboucher@bgcharfordcecil.org.
